This event has passed.

ARTventures encourage adults and children to play, learn, and create together. Each program, inspired by art on view, focuses on different activities and new ways of thinking about art. ARTventures are best suited for elementary-aged children, but we encourage older or younger kids to join in on the fun!

Start from Square One
Are you ready to think out-side the box? Explore how the red, yellow, blue, and gray prints by artist Sol LeWitt show us that less is more.

Sol LeWitt developed his artistic vocabulary by exploring different combinations of basic geometric units. Using fundamental elements such as line, shape, and color as his building blocks, he would follow a predetermined set of actions to investigate the compositional possibilities of modular structures and series. In the work shown here, LeWitt stipulated that the four individual prints may only be installed in a strict horizontal or vertical line, or in a gridded arrangement.

To properly explore the variations of this work, the installation will changed several times. Please come back to the Henry soon to explore how different arrangements affect your perception of LeWitt’s work.

On view from June 7-August 31, injunction with VIEWPOINTS on the Mezzanine
